Cane Corso:  The best family protection dog there is.

Cane Corso Italian Mastiff (read about the breed)

Meet Khaleesi and Ender

Momma Dog
Khaleesi is an American Cane Corso Italian Mastiff with shorter (less floppy) ears and tighter jowls (flews) than you typically see in European/Italian lines.  She weighs 100 pounds and we "rescued" her from a Puppy Mill place.  Unfortunately that means we don't know much about her lines.  She has a nice strong scissor bite, which she uses to hit hard on a training sleeve!
Poppa Dog
Ender is a cross between an American Cane Corso Mom (Cashmere) and a European Cane Corso Dad (Preacher).  This guy takes after his sire pretty strongly, though in our opinion.  He has the more traditional flews and ears of the breed.   Ender  is 130 lbs.  Not an ounce of fat on him.  He shows no allergies or any other health issues.  He DID get cherry eye in his left eye at 4 months old.  A simple $300 day surgery fixed the issue and it has not returned.  He's 2 yrs old.  His bite is a scissor bite, not an undershot jaw at all.  He's just learning protection skills and has barely started on bite-work at this time.

They love hanging out together on their Giant Dog Chair
dam and sire cane corso
These dogs are very sweet and loving! They play with the grandkids, they play with our senior dog.  They love to crawl up on our laps and play like they are puppies.

Did you know that in the UK and European Union they have made it illegal to crop ears and dock tails?

Meet Rutger! He's a 17 yr old Border Collie/Rottie mix

Border Collie Rutger

Rutger is only 70 pounds, and is an elderly dog, but he can still perform all of his Protection duties for which he
has extensive training!  He still loves performing a security sweep, or alerting to a bad guy, and still loves taking a
bite out of a bite sleeve.  As long as he wants to keep doing it, I will let him keep practicing.
